Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit
Avenue, Amritsar was established in 2005 with an ancestry of the main Khalsa
College (Est. in 1892), Amritsar. Re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NACC in year
2022, the sole aim of the institution is to hone the precious human resource -
the teachers, for the welfare of the society and nation. Striving for this aim,
the college started its journey with 100 B.Ed. entrants on a rambling campus of
15.7 acres, with the grant of recognition from Northern Regional Committee, Jaipur
(NCTE). From the session 2007-08, the college started PGDCA (T.E.) with a
capacity of 40 seats. In the year 2008, the college got approval to start M.Ed.
with 25 seats and in 2010, the number of seats increased to 35. In the year
2015 by Northern Regional Committee, Jaipur (NCTE), the college has granted
with additional unit of 100 B.Ed. seats and from the session 2015-16 the
college started accommodating 200 B.Ed. students (Two Years Semester System)
and 50 M.Ed. students (Two Years Semester System).
The
college started its first batch of B.Ed.- M.Ed. three years Integrated Course
and B.A- B.Ed. four years Integrated Course with 50 students and to a
Certificate Course in Early Child Care and Education to live up to the
guidelines of the NEP 2020 which is built on the foundational pillars of
Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability. This policy is
aligned for Sustainable Development and aims to transform India into a vibrant
knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making both school and
college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, suited to 21st
century needs and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each
student. The college provides the training in all the important pedagogy
subjects viz. Social Studies, Political Science, History, Life Sciences,
Physical Sciences, Science, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Computer
Applications, English, Punjabi, Hindi, Fine Arts, Music, Home Science and
Physical Education.

Avenue, Amritsar has a state-of-the art infrastructure with rich library, well
equipped laboratories, updated computer & language laboratory, advanced
technology laboratory and exceptional playgrounds. It has excellent academic
environment with neat and clean surroundings. The college also provides free
and unlimited wi-fi facility to students and teachers. The college has a
well-established guidance centre to give educational and vocational guidance to
the students.
